RR Race 4-stroke
New electronics: first introduced on the X-Pro models, these two technologies derived from the world of racing and transfer down to the Race model range.
• Launch control: Enables the MY 27 RR RACE 4T models to get off to a flying start, managing torque delivery to maximise traction right from the start, eliminating any time lost due to wheel spin or uncontrolled wheelies. There are five different levels of control to give the rider enough choices depending on conditions.
• Quick shift (Up-shift): Allows the rider to engage gears without having to ease off the throttle, ensuring lightning-fast gear changes with no interruption in power, covering more distance in less time.
These two solutions raise the technological level of Beta’s 4T range to new standards, placing competition-grade controls in the rider’s hands to deliver maximum performance in all racing conditions. The control panel, which now houses the new LC and QS buttons alongside the tried-and-tested two-level Traction Control (TC) and the map switch (with two engine maps), has consequently been redesigned, whilst retaining its position within the handlebar protection, which also sports a new look.
Voltage regulator: An improved voltage regulator, which guarantees a higher, as well as more stable and efficient, voltage to the battery. This update has a positive impact on the entire electrical system, ensuring a more constant and reliable power supply for all on-board electronic components. In addition, the battery’s charging capacity has been increased, enhancing the bike’s operational endurance even during the longest and most demanding races.
Titanium valves: Beta’s engineers have further refined the heart of the engine by introducing titanium valves with an optimised finish. This update is designed to cope without compromise with the most extreme stresses of racing, increasing durability and reliability whilst helping to maintain the high performance standards by the most demanding riders. The modification concerns the intake valves for the 430 cc and 480 cc models.
New cam chain tensioner: Straight from the RX 450f, the chain tensioner now employs a purely mechanical adjustment (rather than a hybrid mechanical-hydraulic system with forced oil flow) with a newly calibrated spring. These modifications optimise friction and operational progressiveness, contributing to smoother operation and more effective starts with both a hot and cold engine.
RR Race 2T
Piston: An updated piston has been introduced on the RR RACE125 2T MY27 model, the result of optimisation work aimed at improving smoothness of the overall power delivery.
Main bearings: With the MY27, the RR RACE 250 and 300 2T engines feature new main bearings that reduce internal engine friction, improving rotational smoothness and optimising reliability and overall mechanical performance.
300 2-stroke engine: Beta’s engineers have refined the 300 2-stroke engine by adjusting the engine head geometry and the exhaust valve timing, with the aim of making the response at low and medium revs more progressive. The result is more controllable power delivery during throttle control, without compromising the performance and racing character that have always distinguished this model. This leads to greater usability of torque across the entire rev range.
Racing Components – The Entire Range
In addition to the modifications mentioned above, designed to refine the various models in the range according to their specific characteristics, the entire Race MY27 range benefits from a series of innovations common to all Race models.
• Chain guide: the new reinforced structure offers better resistance to mud, stones and impacts, ensuring greater durability and consistently efficient chain guidance. This improves the precision of the drivetrain, with a reduced risk of the chain derailing under extreme conditions.
• Grips: the new RR RACE models are fitted with new grips made from a softer compound, designed to reduce rider fatigue during longer and more demanding sessions. The more comfortable material effectively absorbs vibrations transmitted through the handlebars, reducing the strain on the forearms and allowing the rider to maintain a secure and comfortable grip even on the roughest terrain. The result is a greater feel for the bike and sustained physical endurance — two factors that often make all the difference in a race.
• LED headlight and headlight mask: design and functionality come together in the new headlight mask created by Beta’s designers, which refreshes the bike’s look by incorporating a robust, new, latest-generation LED headlight. As well as delivering a more powerful beam, this headlight consumes less power, thereby extending the battery’s service life.
• Front sprocket guard: the new front sprocket guard has been redesigned to offer wider coverage and greater strength than the previous model, ensuring superior protection against impacts, debris and external elements during use, as well as greater safety for the rider (in compliance with even the most stringent competition regulations).
• Suspension: The Kayaba (KYB) suspension has updated internal valve settings to further enhance the overall performance of each model. Each year the Beta engineers and race team continue to develop these settings to move the needle closer to the perfect balance.
• Speedometer: the RR RACE My27 models are fitted with a new instrument (Trailtech), comparable to the previous version in terms of the information provided to the rider, but larger and easier to read, as well as more robust, to cope with even the most demanding conditions. This has been combined with a new, pick-up lead for wheel speed measurement, which is precise and reliable.
Retained from previous model yearsThe tried-and-tested chassis package and special components of the Beta race-ready versions are retained:
• KYB sealed-cartridge front fork: designed to offer maximum control and consistently precise response, it ensures stability, responsiveness and benchmark performance on all terrains.
• Kayaba (KYB) C46 RCU rear shock: the KYB rear shock can be considered a benchmark in the world of competition for its ability to absorb uneven terrain, the level of traction transferred to the bike, and its consistent performance even under particularly demanding conditions. Its hydraulic settings are fully customisable via external adjustments for compression (at both high and low speeds) and rebound.
• Quick-release front wheel axle: immediately recognisable by its red anodised quick-release mechanism, this is essential for saving precious seconds during a race when a tyre needs replacing.
• Reinforced handguards: the handguards feature a two-component moulded construction, which not only gives the bike a racing look but also makes them particularly durable during the most intense off-road use.
• Ergal footpegs: to always ensure maximum control and never lose contact with the bike, the RR Race models are fitted with Ergal racing footpegs featuring interchangeable steel pins, which facilitate foot movement whilst offering superior grip.
• Sprocket with anodised aluminium core and steel teeth by ZF SPROCKETS: top-level performance, lightness and robustness – the perfect combination that every racing component should have.
• Dedicated racing seat: with non-slip covering and a document pocket, for maximum grip, comfort and functionality.
• Racing graphics: Enhancing the Race model’s track appeal.
• Black anodised gear shift lever and rear foot brake lever.
• Gearbox oil cap, engine oil cap and oil filter cap in red anodised aluminium.
• Red Ergal chain tensioners.
On all 2-stroke models, the automatic oil injection has been omitted (available in the Factory Parts accessories catalogue) to minimise the bike’s weight as much as possible.
